Solivita in Kissimmee, Florida, made Guinness World Record history on November 9th, 2014, when they set the new record for the world’s longest ice-cream dessert. Day three of the five day Salute Our Veterans Weekend, this event was open to public inviting the surrounding community to take part in this once-in-a-lifetime spectacular. Wrapping continuously twice down the length of Village Drive, this ice-cream dessert officially measured more than 1,772-feet long! With 285 tables donated by local Taylor Rental and 317 half-gallon tubs courtesy of Publix, this monumental event was the fruition of the more than 250 resident and non-resident volunteers, Solivita lifestyle coordinators and AV Homes.
Supporting a wonderful cause, spectators were invited to indulge in this sweet deal for a five dollar donation. All proceeds from the Salute Our Veterans Weekend events will be donated to the local USO and Habitat for Humanity to build homes for vets. With a year round-calendar of events with many supporting local charities and causes, Solivita and its residents are dedicated to giving back to the community they call home.
