Summer has officially arrived, which means lots of sunshine accompanied by constant high temperatures. Beat the heat this year with these fun, creative ways to enjoy the sunny rays and stay cool in the process.
Nothing says summer like ice pops, ice cubes and ice cream.
Ice pops – To get started, head to the store (either brick and mortar or the Internet!) where you can purchase any number of ice pop molds. Once you pick the right mold for you, fill it with your favorite juice or ice pop flavoring, let them freeze and enjoy! Tip: Pinterest is a great place for unique ice pop recipes and ideas.
Frozen Fruit Cubes – Add a fruity spin to your favorite beverage with frozen fruit cubes. Fill an empty ice cube tray with water and add pieces of your favorite fruit before freezing. Or put a twist on this idea by crushing your fruit in a bowl and freezing the fruit juice in an ice cube tray.
Ice Cream- We all scream for ice cream, especially on a hot day. Take your ice cream festivities outdoors this summer with a backyard ice cream party. To avoid melting, scoop your favorite ice cream flavors indoors and head outside to pile on your toppings for a cool down in the sun.
Beaches and Springs
Living in a state surrounded by water has its perks—including yearlong access to beachside fun!
If you head to the Gulf Coast, stop by Clearwater or St. Pete Beach for beautiful scenery and adventure cruises. If you head to the Atlantic, stop by Daytona Beach, Cocoa Beach, or New Smyrna Beach for surfing, scuba lessons and parasailing.
In addition to beautiful beaches, Florida also boasts many springs and state parks with cool waters, Florida wildlife, hiking and many other outdoor activities. Check out these popular Florida Springs:
Central Florida has many iconic water parks. Take a dive this summer into these fun water parks:
- Wet ‘n Wild
- Aquatica, SeaWorld’s Water Park Orlando
