ORLANDO, Fla. – Jan. 11, 2017 – AV Homes, Inc. (Nasdaq:AVHI), a leading homebuilder with active adult communities in Florida, Arizona and North Carolina was recently honored with nine “Best of 55+ Housing Awards” by the National Association of Homebuilders (NAHB), including three for its Florida Communities. The NAHB 55+ Housing Council’s “Best of 55+ Housing Awards” program is the industry’s most prestigious national awards program recognizing innovation and excellence in building, design and marketing for active adults housing. The 2017 awards, which included the top prize of “Best 55+ For-Sale Community” for AV Homes’ Solivita community in Central Florida, brings the company’s recognition from the NAHB 55+ Housing Council to a total of over 20 honors since the awards program began.

Vitalia at Tradition, a lush 450-acre lakefront active adult community in Port St. Lucie, Fla., won a silver award for “Best 55+ Clubhouse,” for its resident clubhouse, Captiva Club. The club features 24,000 square feet of amenities including a state-of-the-art fitness center, a grand ballroom and heated tropical pool complete with cabanas.
The prestigious “gold” award for the “Best 55+ For-Sale Community over 200 Homes,” was awarded to Solivita, AV Homes’ 4,300-acre active adult community in the heart of Central Florida. The community boasts more than 150,000 square feet of resort-style amenities, over 200 clubs and activities, two golf courses, retail and restaurants all within the gates of Solivita. Also, the Riviera Spa and Fitness Center won the silver award for “Best 55+ Outdoor Lifestyle Amenity.” A 32,000-square-foot facility, the Riviera Spa and Fitness Center features an outdoor heated pool and two heated whirlpool spas with a deck overlooking the community’s vast waterways. The center also includes an indoor air-conditioned track above an indoor heated pool, an exercise studio with state-of-the-art cardiovascular suite, strength equipment and free weights, as well as a dance studio for aerobics and fitness classes.
AV Homes also recently announced the addition of several new and enhanced amenities at Solivita. These enhancements include renovations to Solvitia’s on-site restaurant, a new manned gate entrance with high-end transponder technology and a license plate recognition system, and the addition of a pharmacy and sundries store.
