Fall is finally here, which means fall festivals are underway. Fall festivals, or harvest festivals, began hundreds of years ago to celebrate the main harvest of a given region. In the beginning, harvest festivals were celebrated primarily in Britain and were celebrated in the same way Thanksgiving was celebrated in America and Canada. These festivals consisted of food, music, contests and fun, and were typically held on Sunday. Today, autumn festivals have grown beyond its one-day tradition. We still celebrate Thanksgiving and festivals with the same traditions, but they typically last for the entire season.
